When the Bible calls us to oneness, it isn’t calling us to sameness. Oneness means oneness in purpose, where we use the strengths that God has uniquely gifted us with to move our marriage and our life more towards His purpose. This will require each spouse to bring their uniqueness. Our spouse viewing the world in a different way or processing life in a different way is actually an asset to a marriage.
Main points:
[0:12] Oneness is not sameness, it’s one in purpose
[3:40] Recognize where you’re different and where that might bring something needed to your marriage
[4:42] It’s important to encourage each other to be who God made us to be
[5:28] When we can see our spouse as an asset, that can make all the difference
