We’d like to ask you a question. And we want you to take a minute before giving an answer. What do you believe about God? Now, the right, true answer is that God is loving and kind and gracious and forgiving, along with many other attributes. We know that. But is that what you actually believe? We’d like you to take a moment and assess your behaviors. Behaviors reveal what we believe about God. What do your behaviors say that you believe about God? Join us on today’s video as we talk about how your beliefs about God and the behaviors that accompany will directly impact the health of your marriage.
Main points:
[0:12] Our belief about God directly impacts our marriage
[0:35] If we have a belief system that God is unkind, or that he is mean, then that’s going to impact how we treat each other.
[0:55] But if we believe that he is kind and patient and holy and forgiving and loving, then we’re going to be able to treat our spouse with that in mind.
[1:40] Our belief about God can be shaped by our past experiences, the home we grew up in, different people, etc.
[2:25] Ask yourself: “What do I believe about God?”
[3:35] See your spouse through the Truth about who God is and how He sees them.
[3:55] When we have an accurate understanding of who God is, then our heart is going to begin to shift and we will respond in more gracious ways.
