You may have seen our motto “strive to be a threat”. Does this phrase confuse you? In this video, we talk about what “strive to be a threat” actually means and how it is an impactful mindset to have in our marriages. Here’s what it comes down to: Our marriage is the greatest testimony we have about who Christ is. So, we have to be asking ourselves, “what does our marriage say about who Jesus is?”.
Main points:
[0:35] When we have a marriage that is solid spiritually, where we are unified in God’s purpose and have a strong foundation in Christ, then we are free to do whatever God has called us to do without having the barriers that perpetual marital conflicts bring.
[2:38] The enemy’s going to try to create division in a relationship.
[3:08] Our marriage is the greatest testimony that we have to show others about who Christ is.
[3:15] People are going to be looking at our marriages to see if we practice what we preach.
[3:42] If our marriage is the definition of selfishness and pride and contempt etc., then why would anyone want to know who Christ is if we can’t respond well in our marriages?
[4:05] Our marriages need to respond and look different than the rest of the world.
[4:30] If our marriage is the definition of unconditional love and selflessness and kindness and gentleness, patience, graciousness, self-control, then that’s a marriage that is going to show the love of Christ in a really practical way.
